Tmc-Tech Posted December 14, 2005 Share Posted December 14, 2005 We had 4 1GB Corsair PC2700R-25330-Z1 DIMMs running in a dual Opteron server system. The system has been operational since May 2004 and has recently started crashing. After the system crash, the system will not POST and at all. At first, I thought it was a problem with something just needing reseated, so I reseated the RAM, video card, and NIC and then it POSTED fine. The system went down again this morning. So, I removed 1 pair of DIMMs (this Tyan motherboard requires the DIMMs in pairs) and it still would not POST. In the process of swapping out DIMMs, I have found that one of the DIMMS is defective.
