Italiano86
Hello, just last night I started having problems with my memory, I only alt-F4'd out of a game, then bam, I would get a BSOD saying irq not less or equal, or bad pool header. I'm was running my ram in dual chanel mode in dimm 1 and 3, at factory defaults, 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.75 volts. This has been working fine for the past month or so. I tried running both dimms at mobo defaults, and the computer would still get a bsod before reaching windows. The only way for it to work right now is use a single stick in any of the 4 dimms, of both dimms in a non- dual channel setup, ie: slot 1 and 2, or 3 and 4. I'm really boggled right now. I even ran memtest 86 with both dimms individually and not one single error. I also have no device conflicts, and all my drivers are up to date. My powersupply is also more than enough for my system, at 500 watts. I hope I provided enough information, let me know if you need more. Edit: While running the sticks in dimms one and two, I can only run the ram at non factory defaults (my mobo's auto settings, which sets the ram clock at 333mhz) but it can still manage 2.75 volts. Wired
try the memory in another system.
Italiano86
I wish I could do that, but i only own 1 two thousnd dollar computer setup, lol. I'm running it just fine in dimms one and two though, however if I overclock the memory to factory defaults, my computer will not boot up. Its running a bit slower right now at about 160mhz. Is there a driver on my mobo that I can try rolling back, or even flashing my bios?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2005 Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Italiano86
DDR Settings: Timing mode on auto mem clock index value 333mhz tcl - 3 tras - 7t trcd - 3t trp - 3t trc - 10t trfc - 11t trwt - 4t twr - 3t memory timing - 2t cpu freq. 200.0 ddr voltage 2.75v cpu multiplyer x12 cpu voltage 1.40v pci clock synch - auto Everything is bacically on auto/default right now. Before I had to literally overclock my memory to it's default factory settings of 2.75v (comp had it set at 2.6) and 2.5-3-3-6 because my computer kept locking up. It's been running fine for over a month in dual channel mode up until last week when I couldn't even get into windows without a bsod. Currently I'm running the dimms in slots one and two. One and three, and even two and four causes bsod's. Any attempt to set my ram at factory defaults will also cause my computer to lock up. I tested each dimm individually with memtest, as well as together as it is now and I didn't recieve any errors. Hope this is enough information.:o:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2005 What bios version are you using? Latest is 1.15 With the latest Beta bios version 1.016 Beta

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 16, 2005 I would try the latest beta version I posted to be sure, but I have no problem replacing your modules if you like. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Italiano86
Alrighty, I'll flash my bios to teh latest betas, hopefully that will solve the problem. If not, I really don't see how my ram could be the problem, other than not being able to set the timings to factory. Could it be a motherboard problem, have you ever heard ot such a problem? Italiano86
Flashed it to the latest beta, the same problem happened. I tried to boot up in dual channel with default settings, my comp wouldn't load past the bios screen. Then I put the dimm back into slot 2 and manually set the timings back to factory, the computer would startup but I would get a sound, one long beep followed by two short beeps. Back to square one, dimms in slot one and 2 and mobo settings at default. Also, when I tried to boot at default in dual channel, windows created an error report saying it was caused by a bad device driver.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 20, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 20, 2005 Will the modules run and pass http://www.memtest.org one at a time?
Italiano86
Yes, they did when I tested them individually. I just got an email from asus about my mobo, and the tech told me that I have a bad memory controller in my cpu, and need to send it in to amd. I'll see what amd says, hopefully this is the problem considering its been found, even thought that also means I have to send it in, lol. I'll let you know what amd says as soon as I hear back from them.:sigh!:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2005 If both modules run one up with out problems I would agree with ASUS.
Italiano86
Here's an update. I haven't yet sent in my cpu because I am using it every day, but plan to soon. Lately though, I have been gettin a fatal lockup on my computer. Usually when I quit my internet browser to the desktop, I recieve one beep then bam, my computer locks up, cant move mouse or anything, and am forced to reboot. I looked at the error code for one beep, and it said: DRAM refresh failure. Any info from you would be greatly appreciated ram guy. :o:
