tilemom
I need an RMA#, but I have to get forum help first. I tried using the beta program, but everytime I had to look up an answer (even the simple ones) I got logged off for taking too much time. Now it is 2AM and I will have to check for help tomorrow. There ought to be a simpler way. Some of us are too old for this. My Windows system files became corrupted. After trying to restore it, all I got was a black screen and beeping. I had a tech back up my harddrive so I could do a clean install. He tested the machine and found that he could get a boot screen and no beeping by removing one specific module of the Corsair VS1GBKIT400 pair. This module was a problem no matter what slot he tried it in. So I had to reformat and am functioning, but I am short a gig of memory and would like it replaced as quickly as possible. BTW, it worked fine for a year. What is the next step?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 8, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. tilemom
I do not know how to set voltage (and the other things you mentioned) and I do not want to put the modules back into my computer! It took a lot of work to get up and running again. It was already determined that only one of the modules is bad. I thought I stated that clearly last night, but I was very tired. Please help me expidite this replacement.
