twin43
I recieved a pair of CMX512-3200C2PT Twinx (1024MB) and exprienced random crashes when playing games or running certain programs. At first I thought the problem resided in a different place. So I updated all my drivers and the problem persisted. So I ran memtest and found 400+ errors from the test. I believe that I have recieved a bad module My system specs are as followed Elitegroup ECS KV2 Extreme motherboard AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Geforce 6800GT
Wired
Test it with the correct timings (1 at a time in the same slot), as you didn't list them: CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts All other settings to defaults. twin43
I have tried this and still it didn't work. So I removed the bad stick and everything is currently working fine. It was a bad stick after all.
Wired
Do you mean you only tested both sticks at the same time, and not one at a time in the same slot?
twin43
at first I tested both sticks at the same time. But then decided to pull one and test each individually. This is when I found that one stick was infact defected
twin43
To make sure that the module was defected. I went ahead and tested it on my old computers motherboard. Results were the same so I then tested the to good module and 0 errors popped up. At this point I am almost certain that it is a bad stick of RAM
