Asus a8n-sli checksum error

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i got a gig of corsair 2x512 3200c2pro. recently, my computer would shut off out of nowhere. then when i rebooted, i would get a checksum error in my bios. also, my screen turned purple and i couldnt boot to windows. i removed one peice of hardware once at a time. i narrowed it down to one of my ram modules. any suggestions before i do an RMA?

i did a post about a week ago and it looks like it got deleted. anyway i have 2x512 3200c2pro. and an ASUS a8n-sli. one day my computer shut off out of no where. when i rebooted i got a checksum error and couldnt boot. then i removed one module and it worked fine. when i put the other module in by itself, the problems come up again. i think i have a bad module. any advice? or can i do an RMA?

My apologies

I used all those settings and then ran memtest. one stick passed fine. when i put in the second, i couldnt even boot. i just got beeps when posting. so i tired both at a time and within seconds, memtest gave me over 7000. im pretty sure i have a bad module now. the rev number is:

XMS3202V5.2

0538051-1

CL2

So where can i go from here?
