bortan2
We have recently purchased several Corsair Platinum Series RAM modules, and one has gone bad. We ran it in several memory testing Apps (Memtest86+, Windows Memory Test) , and it failed on multiple tests, showing random errors. Please issue RMA for this module. Thank you. bortan2
Since it has been more than 30 days since original purchase of this faulty memory stick, the original retailer won't take back/replace the module. That is why we are requesting RMA through Corsair. Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 2, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
bortan2
The offending RAM stick has been used in a couple of different computers, so that we could isolate the problem. It failed all computers it was tested in. The original machine is a 2.8GHz P4(HT), with an 800MHz FSB. Bios settings are default settings (no overclocking), and it was using the default CAS latency, etc. which the RAM gave the BIOS to use. No customization, simply default settings. The make and model of MB is an Intel D865GBF.
CandyKid
Just to simplify RAM GUY's answers, the other IDENTICAL modules did work in said setup on said settings? PLUR CK
bortan2
Yes, they did. The other identical module which was in the computer when it exhibited errors was tested, and it had no errors after running the memory test application for over 24 hours. This bad module had over 800 errors in 4 hours of testing...
