Overclocking with TWINX2048-3500LL

Im new to overclocking, so please bear with me.

I set my memory to 218Mhz, however when starting a game, it eventually crashes. It works fine if my settting is 200Mhz.

Also, I increased my CPU multiplier to 13.5x from 13x, but the computer would not successfuly boot at 13.5x.

My voltage is set at 2.75v for memory and 1.5v for cpu.

Would increasing the voltage on the cpu and the memory work?

Welcome to the forums, eckertt001!

I would actually drop the CPU multiplier down to 12.0x and then increase the FSB to 218MHz running 1:1 with the memory.

I'd try 2.85v for the VDimm and see if the system will boot, using Memtest86+ to test for errors.

If that worked, then bring the multiplier back up 0.5x at a time. If you're unable to increase it much, then try 1.55v on VCore and see if that helps.

As always, PLEASE use a high-quality aftermarket CPU cooler to prevent thermal issues.

Thanks!! I've been goofing around and this is where I got it to:

FSB 944Mhz

MEM 236Mhz

CPU 2.6Ghz

11x multiplier

CPU is about 43c full load and board gets around 47c.

I installed a water cooler awhile ago, and have 2 fans pushing air a half inch above the RAM.

Is that a good overclock? And u think I can push it further?

Definately not bad at all, you may be able to squeeze a little more with 2-3-3- instead of 2-3-2- on the memory, but that's up to you.

The other test is to increase the VCore on your CPU 0.05v and see if you can go further, which would suggest the CPU was holding you back if you could.

Remember, these modules can go up to 2.9 volts if you care to try that route as well!

Well thats the best I can get...I changed the multiplier to 12x and got it to 2.8ghz but the mem will only go to 236, and higher and it wont boot, even at 2.9v.

But I think its a board problem honestly. I changed my multiplier to 11.5x and that worked, but things were quite screwy. I got 2.7ghz cpu like I was supposed to, but my mem timings changed to something like 248mhz and FSB was like 984mhz, which made no sense. And the performance was really bad. Took about 2 minutes just to open my computer. I pushed it to 12x and everything was correct, 944mhz FSB and 236mhz mem.

The other thing is if I set the Vcore to anything other then Auto, even 1.5v, the comptuer will not boot at all. Hopefully a future BIOS update will rectify this.
