jferello
I just bought a Gateway 835GM recently and love everything about it. However I noticed that my machine is slower than a friends at loading and playing all games. So I did some research and found out I have DDR2 RAM that is currently clocked at 4-4-4-12 and that is really slow. I want to buy the TWIN2X1024A-5400UL set but I worry that it will not work at the fastest speed listed because I cannot change anything in my BIOS to make it go faster. I have read that the above set comes with SPD settings of like 4-4-4-8 or something for compatibility and if you want to experiment you can change your settings in the BIOS to get the 3-3-2-8 settings. Can I use this RAM in my computer? If so how would I get it to run at the 3-3-2-8 settings? Can Corsair change the SPD settings in the factory and send them to me?
