abprice
I am putting together a new system and need help with the memory settings. I have the following: Asus A8N-Sli Premium AMD 64 x2 4000 Corsair XMS Twinx2048-4000PT If I use BIOS Auto settings, I get the following Memclock index value (Mhz) = 400 CAS# latency (Tcl) = 3 Min RAS# active time (Tras) = 8T RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) = 3T Row precharge time (Trp) = 3T Row cycle time (Trc) = 16T Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) =18T Read to write time (Trwt) = 5T Write recover time (Twr) 3T 1T/2T Memory Timing = 2T DDR Voltage 2.6 volts I know the setting aren't correct, just not sure which ones to change. Thanks for the help, Andy
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2005 These settings will be fine if you are not over clocking, but I would set the memory voltage to 2.8 Volts if you over clcok and you can follow the link in my signature for the tested settings. abprice
I do plan on overclocking so do I only change the numbers that I got from your sig and leave the rest alone? CMC_SAVAGE
I do plan on overclocking so do I only change the numbers that I got from your sig and leave the rest alone? You're getting slightly better timings with the RAM running at only 400MHz. Depending on how far you go beyond that you may have to use the SPD timings of 3-4-4-8.
