kdkrone
I have a P4PE motherboard with an Intel 2.56 processor and 512 Corsair CMX512 3200C2 memory. I woulld like to increase the memory total to 2G. I think that I have to do it with only 2 sticks of memory, so that would require 2 x 1GB. The P4PE is not listed in the list of ASUS motherboards. Which memory can I use? I would not have any problem purchasing 3200 memory again, even though I do not have a front side bus that uses its speed. I figure if I purchase 3200 memory I can probably use it in my next rebuild, assuming that there is some memory that I can use with this present motherboard. CMC_SAVAGE
Technically it only supports DDR333. You could use PC3200 if you want since you plan on using it again. The TWINX2048-3200C2's would probably work ok.

Thanks Ken K What DRAM: FSB (ratio) are you using? If you're not overclocking, and you haven't upped the ratio, then I believe you're only running at DDR 2100. Why not just upgrade to 1.5G? kdkrone
Neilf, I won't be home until Friday, so I can't check, but I have done no mods or overclocking, so I am probably running at a FSB of 333. I purchased the RAM on the advice of a friend last year, and I know it is not running at full speed, but I am hoping to use it again at some point. I have a couple of daughters who will need new computers in the not too distant future. WRT 1.5 GB of RAM, I thought that I can only use two of the three banks, and that being the case, don't they have to match? I have two 256 GB sticks now, so I thought I would need two 1 GB sticks in order to have more than 1 GB of RAM. Thanks KK
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2005 You will need to replace what you have now with 2 1.0 Gig modules with this MB.
