m4352x
hi i bought this ram last week, and was quite happy with it, but after a couple of days, my system crashed, and when booting with the new stick of ram all i hear is a whole lot of beeps. i have replaced it with my old 512 platinum stick and its all running fine. does this sound like a bad stick of memory? or am i missing something simple? thanks for eeading, and i eagerly await some assistance... Wired
Were you testing only with that 1 stick? Did you set the BIOS timings up?
m4352x
yes it was the only stick of ram in the machine, the machine i have dictates that i can only have ddr400 in the first slot of the board, hence the upgrade to a gig stick. I had set the latency to 3 which is as much setting as i can do with my bios, and it did work fine for 2 days..... all i can think is that it gave up after running for a while. I have since taken it round to another pc and tried it on its own in there, and i heard the same horrible beep, not even getting to the bios, just the same as on my machine. I think that confirms it for me, but would appreciate any input you have on the matter.
