painless
I just ordered an Intel D915PGN motherboard. As I usually get Corsair memory, I checked the website memory configurator, and it recommended a VS1GBKIT400 kit. So, I ordered that as well. However, according to a specification update ftp://download.intel.com/design/motherbd/gn/C8089204.pdf this board uses only 2.6 volt memory. The specs I find for this memory say it is 2.5 volt. So, is the recommended memory really compatible? I haven’t installed the memory or even opened it yet in case I need to send it back. Stability and reliability are more important to me than performance, so I want to be sure. Thanks.
Wired
Maybe. Here's why: If VS is 2.5v rated memory, then it shouldn't have a problem @ 2.6v, as IIRC it's rated up to, but not over, 2.9v. However, I could've sworn it's tested @ 2.75 volts. Just emailed Ram Guy for clarification.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2005 That is on the sellers web site, Value Select would be using JEDEC voltage for DDR400 2.6 Volts +- 1.2 Volts. You should not have any problems.
