totoher
Hi i'v been trying to get my corsair pc3200 valueram 2x 1gb to run at lower speeds so I can up the fsb on my cpu. Problem is that the ram refuses to post at any memory divider other than 200 and 166 memclock. I tryed this with going from stable at 254 fsb ht multiplier 4x, 166memclock timing 2.5 3 3 7 1t, to 254 150memclock. Ram refuses to post. I upped the voltage from 2.55 to 2.7 and still no post. I relaxed the timings running at 3 3 3 8 2t and no go. I also tryed at 133 and the ram refuses to post beyond 215 fsb. I'v also tryed setting the cpu multiplier lower and running at a higher fsb with 133memclock but it wont work either. It only runs at 200 and 166. What do i do? Thanks for reading. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2005 Are you sure your CPU is not causing the boot problem? Have you verfied the CPU to run at speeds above 215FSB?
totoher
I have been running it at 254 fsb ht multiplier 4x, 166memclock timing 2.5 3 3 7 1t for the past 2 weeks no problems. It stops posting as soon as i goto 150 divider with all the same settings.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2005 I have been running it at 254 fsb ht multiplier 4x, 166memclock timing 2.5 3 3 7 1t for the past 2 weeks no problems. It stops posting as soon as i goto 150 divider with all the same settings. I am not familiar with the 150 divider. The standard memory speeds are 133, 166, and 200 for DDR modules. If your board will not boot when you change the divider to 150 then I would assume it is the motherboard causing the problem. The best thing to do is to test the modules at their standard advertised speed and timing with memtest and see if there are any problems. Otherwise try updating the BIOS on the board. totoher
Like I said in my first post, the ram will not post at 254 at the 133 mem clock either. It wont go past 215 at that speed which doesnt make any sense. I have the latest bios for this board 3.7 I have also heard of other ppl with dfi nforce4 chipsets and corsair ram with dividers not working. Is this the same problem and is there a solution? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2005 The CPU and memory clock frequency should be 200 Mhz!

totoher
im trying to run at 254fsb at 150mhz memclock index the 3:4 divider. This means ill be running the ram at 190.5mhz well within its speed range. Memory will not post at this speed. Plz read my previous posts for more info. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2005 Will the system post and run at 200 Mhz not over clocked? If so that is not a memory problem.
