EPoX 9NDA3I & TwinX 1024Gb 3200C2Pro

Well there are 2 issues here really and try not to totally blame Epox.

1. The memory controller for AMD dual-core procs is on the proc.

2. for the Proc I have - AMD X24200 the Epox 9NDA3+ isn't an AMD-approved board.

U didn't answer what processor U have Grandsam but if it is an AMD dual-core processor then the fault may be in the memory controller of the processor not the mobo. I'd love for the Epox mobo to be at fault but . . . the more I research and the more I think about it its possible it could be the memory controller on the processor (in my case at least). If I'm correct then there is nothing wrong with the Epox mobo or its just he Epox mobo isn't qualified to run that proc - which I knew when I purchased it. I personally will be looking into RMAing my proc before the mobo.

Sorry, I thought processor read on siganture and in System Specs... :o:

Ok, my CPU is 3200+ Venice and it worked just fine (as long as the mobo worked) on my old Asus A8V Deluxe. Memory sticks went just fine 1T and so on. Tried with both: Corsairs and KHX (sorry about that Corsair guys - :p:)...

I'm starting to think that it's just that nF3 mobos are picky about what memory sticks are put in them (even thought memory is controlled by CPU) - don't ask why, it's just a gut feeling = I'm not engineer enough. DFI nF3 Ultra boards seems to have similiar problem, which occurs just in some combinatons (been reading DFI Street lately).

Hope mine isn't one of them, but i'm afraid that 2T is the choice for me. Again. Compatibility issues among DFI and Corsair - or so I've heard... :(:

EDIT: Oh, and Ram Guy - ther is no problem with Dual Channel. It works like a charm. ONLY the 1T/2T issue which is bugging me... :)

EDIT2: And if there is interest, I can tell you about my project with DFI's nF3 Ultra mobo?

EDIT3: Corrected a couple of typos...

That seems to be a common problem with the latest CPU's more than likely this will be resolved with a bios update. I would check with the MB maker for the latest beta bios as that may solve the problem. But if your MB does not support that CPU then it may never work again check with the MB maker.

Ok,

I'm done here with this EPoX and I'll begin my project with DFI LP.

Thanks for help RamGuy! Hope EPoX puts out a BIOS for 9NDA3 -mobos to make that 1T work correctly.

Up, up and away I'll go with my new mobo!!! My goal is at HTT240 and mem 1:1 with 2.5-3-3-6-1T!!! :headbang:

We'll see... :p:

Cheers!

Sorry to "repost", but I just thought to let you guys know something...

Just yesterday I builded a new system basen on DFI RS482 and it ROCKS!!!! Without effort got FSB220 and mem is 1/1 @ 2-3-3-6-1T & 2.85V. Seems to me there is plenty more room for OC:ing. Autosettings gave me 1T (3-3-3-8) and it engouraged me to push them a bit more. Nice sticks here - me like. Rev is 4.1 if I remember correctly - comes with TCC5 chips, I think (have this old chip list from RamGuy)... :D:

I really doubt you will get that with any MB, you might have to run then at Cas 3-3-3-8 to get that frequency and command Rate is not a memory setting I would suggest 2t CR!

Have no doubt, now FSB230 and 2-3-3-6 settings and IT WORKS. Trust me. Just ran Prime95 something like 9 hours and If needed I'll post mem settings and screenshots form CPU-Z.

I just LUV :headbang2 these Corsair sticks (well, and maby this DFI RS482 mobo - seems to be a good combination).

EDIT: OK, it's official (?). I just ran Memtest-86 3.2 FSB at 230 couple of rounds and 0 errors. Rock solid, I'd say. Corsair kicks butt! :D

I'm done and happy! Thanks for all your trouble Ram Guy, must be a darn big job to read this whole forum! Good job, mate! ;)
