Wing
I believe one or both of my sticks are not working correctly. I have a Gigabyte GA-8knxp motherboard and my memory doesn't seem to work right. After checking my bios I found that it was set up properly. I purchased some crap brand memory and it works fine with my system. Basically after running certain high performance programs my computer would close the program without warning or would it would shut down my computer all together. I have had a tech guy look at it and he seems to think its the memory. Any help will be appreciated.
Wired
What settings do you have for the memory? Test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+. CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts All other settings to defaults. Wing
I did that and found that both past the test. Althought any time i play bf2 with them in the game/computer restarts. While i was reloading windows the computer just restarted, without any prompts or anything. I had to restart the whole process again. Usually it doesn't happen in windows only when gaming, but that is usually. Any help would be appreciated. My motherboard auto configues the settings. The memory only runs at about 200 mhz. I don't know how to change it. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8knxp/GA-8I875. Sorry, I was talking about the different bios settings, it autosets them and i don't know how to change them.
