7ate9
I've used Memtest86 to test both sticks of my TWINX1024C2 RAM, one at a time. Stick_A passes at both 3-3-3-8 and 2-3-3-6. Stick_B failed with two errors at 3-3-3-8 and I didn't bother to test it again at 2-3-3-6. This is on an MSI K7N2 Delta2 FSR motherboard, WD Raptor hard drive, Xtasy X850XT PE video card, AMD 3200 processor. Does this qualify for an RMA, or is any further testing or information needed? Thanks for your time.
Wired
Test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+ using the following settings: CAS Latency (tCL): 2.5 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts All other settings to defaults. 7ate9
Thanks for getting back to me, Wired. Tested the memory as you suggested, here's the results: Stick_A in Slot_1 : Pass Stick_A in Slot_2 : Pass Stick_B in Slot_1 : Pass (this one surprised me) Stick_B in Slot_2 : Failed with 1143 errors in Test 5 and 4 errors in Test 6 I did not test a single module in Slot_3 since that one is the Dual Channel slot and is only used when using both sticks anyway. What are your thoughts?
Wired
I'd re-test Stick_B. If it passes similarly again, test again with it in slot 1, Stick_A in slot 3, see what happens.
7ate9
Thats what I was thinking. I'll give it a try tonight after work. Thanks.
7ate9
Here's what I went through last night. Tested Stick B by itself in both Slots, 2 then 1. Both passed. With Stick B in slot 1, I added Stick A to slot 3. Ran test, passed. So still being a little skeptic, I tried to do some gaming. SWAT4 and Dungeon Siege 2 would both freeze within minutes of playing, mouse/keyboard would become unresponsive, and I'd have to turn off the computer. Removed A and tried both games with only Stick B, same result. Took Stick B out again, put Stick A back in Slot 1 by itself, and things ran fine. So basically, Stick B is passing the MemTest86 test process (other than those previous failures the other night), but my computer will not run correctly when its in use.
