Morpheme
Hi all I have purchased this stick of RAM but it doesn't seem to be working. I have a Rev C 2.1ghz 20" iMac. It should take ddr2 533. Any suggestions? Steve
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 21, 2005 Are you mixing this RAM with any other brands or type of memory?
Morpheme
No, the new imacs have only one user slot, and what I've used is exactly the same as what's inside.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2005 What exactly happens when this module is installed?
Morpheme
Nothing - although it's installed, I go to "about this mac", and it tells me that only 512mb (system base memory) is installed. So it's not detecting it. The manual in this case suggests that this is an indication of faulty RAM.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2005 The Value Select memory is not meant to be mixed with any other type of RAM. If there is memory in your system already you should not use Value Select. We have a page on your memory configurator for your system which shows the suggested, guaranteed memory for this machine: http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/mini/memorysearchcn.aspx?modelid=55162 I would suggest doing an exchange with your retailer for this part.
