Current system:

AMD Athlon XP 2200+

Abit KD7-RAID

512MB DDR Corsair XMS3200

ATI Radeon 9700Pro

2 x 120GB HDD

Windows XP Pro

Anything else you want to know?

I recently tried to add more memory to my systems because I needed faster performance. So i brought a Corsair Value Select range 512MB DDR stick. (VS512MB400C3) It will complete the POST ok but as soon as it tries to load the OS, my system will crash. I suspect that this is faulty memory inless theres something im I need to change in the BIOS that im not aware of? I cant use the memory checking software because I crashes before it lets me run it. Any help would be great, Thanks.

Please make sure the motherboard BIOS is up to date and try the following settings. You can set them in your BIOS, if you have trouble locating one of the settings consult your manual or please contact the support team of your motherboard manufacturer.

DRAM Voltage (also called DDR VOLTAGE): 2.75

--------------------

SDRAM CAS Latency: 3

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8

All other settings are motherboard defaults.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
