Tommyol
Hi! I've got 2 x 512 MB Value Ram DDR 400 in my PC. After running Memtest86 on each module for itself it showed me errors in the range above 410mb for one of the modules. What do I do now?? Is there a Corsair subsidiary in Germany?? Thanx for your help!!!
Tommyol
Hi again! Doesn't anyone have an idea if there's anything I can do about this? Can there be a wrong bios setting? Everything has been set to 'automatic' in the bios ever since I bought the hardware about one year ago. What information do you need to give me a hint?? The warranty-info says I should ask for help in this forum bevore requesting a RMA-number from corsair. If there's no answer to my thread, does that mean no one has an idea and I've got to do the RMA-thing and send the memory in for exchange? ~Thomas
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 21, 2005 Please try the following settings in your BIOS. DRAM Voltage (also called DDR VOLTAGE): 2.75 -------------------- DRAM Clock: 200 MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 3 SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3 SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 All other settings are motherboard defaults. Let me know if these settings help!
Tommyol
Hi!! Thanks for your help! I only have the choice to raise the Dimm-voltage by steps of 0.1V, maximum over-voltage 0.3V. Thus I turned it from 2.5V to 2,7V. The result was even more errors in Memtest86 and MS-Memory Diagnostics. At least it seemed to me like that, becaus I didn't have errors so early in the tests before I changed the voltage. This time I had both 512M-Modules running during the test. I don't think it would make a difference if I took the error-free one out, does it? I don't think there is a way to change the Timings in my Bios. At least I didn't find that part. Current timings are (CPU-Z): Freq. 200 CAS# Lat. 2.5clocks RAStoCAS 3 RAS Prech 3 Tras 8 Any other ideas?? Thanks again!! -Thomas
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 22, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 22, 2005 What happens when you run one stick at a time in memtest? As for your DRAM timings they may be hidden in the Gigabyte Chipset Menu which you can access in most cases by pressing CTRL+F1 at the same time once you are at the BIOS' main screen. Tommyol
Hi! I just tested the memory with your Timing values and 2,7V. No success. Still errors on one module. I tested with both modules installed at a time and with just the errornous installed one time. Any other things I could try?? Thanks again... Tommyol
OK. Just two more questions: Do I send in both modules for replacement? The corrupt one and the one working?? Do I need to ship the module(s) to the Address in Fremont in the US or is there a German or European replacement center? I didn't find another address, so I think I'll have to take the Fremont one. Just asking to make sure... Thanks again...!
Wired
Check with your reseller and their distributor first, as they may be able to help out with the overseas RMA process. Otherwise, yep, it'll have to be sent to Freemont.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 26, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 26, 2005 And I would suggest sending both modules so the new modules both match.
