montuno
Hi...just bought an Abit AA8XE and made the error of buying a generic 1gb stick that wont even boot my system ..on the memory says that it is PC2 4200 DDR2 128mb x 64...but the interesting thing is that it is double sided (it has 16 chips). A quote from the MB manual says "Due to chipset limitation,128mb DIMM modules or double sided x 16 memory chips are not supported". Ok so the one I have is 16 chips and maybe is crap. Does the VS1GB533D2 that Corsair says it's compatible with the AA8XE has only 8 chips ? Will this memory boot from the first time so I can acces the Bios? And I don't understand the thing about 128mb DIMMS not suported....beacuse a memory of 1gb made of only 8 chips its made from 128mb chips... ? Newbie confused here  Help !
