mixer440
I have Cosair VS2GBKIT667D2 (2-1G 667 DDR2) module kit and a P5wd2. In the P5wd2 manual (Page 2-15) it says in some instances, when you use DDR2-667 with CL=4 or CL=3, that it will be downgraded to DDR2-533. What the heck are they talking about? Is this something I have to worry about for the memory I have and how do I fix it? Advice:confused:

They are rated at CL=5. But should some enthusiast-memory-oriented manufacturer come up with DDR2-667 memory rated at CL=4 or CL=3, then the Intel chipsets would limit their performance by downclocking the modules to DDR2-533 or even DDR2-400, whichever memory clockspeed is synchronous with the actual FSB clockspeed of the processor. Remember, the only JEDEC standards for DDR2 memory (that I know of) are CL=4 for DDR2-533 memory and CL=5 for DDR2-667 memory.
