BF2 Guy
Hi RamGuy, I'd like to upgrade my memeory from my currently configured set of CMX512-3200C2PT (total RAM of 1GB). I purchased a single CMX1024-3200C2PT module, but my other two modules will not work in tandem with this new memory. Is there a way for me to get the 2GB of total memory I am trying to acheive without buying another module? If not, what module can I use that will be sure to work with the CMX1024-3200C2PT I have just purchased? My MB can support up to 3GB of total RAM, so I can't go above 1GB modules in each slot. I'd like to keep the speed up to DDR400, but I'm willing to sacrifice some speed for the ability to get up top the full 2GB with what I currently have... how many DDR400 Double Sided Dimms will the Asus K8V delluxe support? Thanks. :sunglasse
CMC_SAVAGE
All the Version#'s would have to be the same. You're best bet for 2GB would be to get anoter 1GB stick. The Version# would need to be the same as the 1GB stick you have now.
Coconut
I was trying to upgrade my system, and after reading this thread decided to purchase the same memory as I already had. So, I the just bought a second CMX1024RE-3200 DIMM for my system, but the MB won't post with both sticks installed. Each works perfectly alone, but as soon as I try them together I get no post. I have tried both DIMMs in every possible slot in the board, but I always get the same result. The only difference between the sticks is the revision number (one is 4.1 and the other is 3.1). I had (unfortunately) not read the revision number sticky post prior to having this problem, but now I am guessing that is my issue? Is there any work-around to get this sticks to play nicely together?
Wired
You have a different issue on top of the versions. http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=235&l1=3&l2=14&l3=67 That model doesn't take REGISTERED memory, which is what you have. For whatever reason, they'll sometimes work with one registered stick. NO way to get around that.
