Brag0n
About 2 weeks ago my computer started to crash and freeze at random... I thought it was because of my old harddrive(that it maybe was corrupt).I tried to format and reinstall windows... but when trying to install the WIN XP again i didn't get the OS installed. So i bought a new HD.... but because of my superior instincts and luck :P It didn't work either ... Is there anyone else that has encountered problems like these lately? Does anybody know what the prob is? Please hurry and help me ! im dying to get my computer up and running again :S:[pouts:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2005 Freeze and crash could result by both hardware and software. To properly figure out if the problem is the memory or not, you should run memtest on these modules one at a time and inform me of the results. Here are the directions you can use to run memtest: 1. Head over to http://www.memtest.org 2. Click on the link labeled "Download (Pre-built & ISOs)" 3. Next click on the link labeled "Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)" 4. Download the software and Unzip the program files 5. Make sure a floppy disk is inserted 6. Run the program, when it asks which drive letter type in "a:" 7. Program should finish writing, reboot off floppy disk 8. Allow memtest to run 2-3 passes
