The rig will be used for the following (in order of importance/frequency): Image Manipulation/Editing/Creation (Photoshop/Illustrator/Freehand) Animation (Flash) Audio/Video Editing/Encoding (Audacity/Premiere/FlasKMPEG/KVCD) Occasional 3D Gaming (Half-Life/Counter Strike/UT2004) Webdesign (Dreamweaver) Here are the components: Intel D945PSN Intel Pentium D 820 Sapphire X700Pro Toxic Western Digital "Raptor" 74GB (C: Drive) Western Digital Caviar 320GB (D: Drive) NEC ND-3500A DVD+-R/RW Samsung DVD-SB16XB DVD-ROM Antec Sonata II w/ 450W SmartPower2 PSU Here are the contenders: TWIN2X1024A-6400 5-5-5-12 $180 TWIN2X1024-5400C4 4-4-4-12 $125 VS1GBKIT533D2 4-4-4-12 $75 Cost is not an issue and the machine will not be overclocked - I am simply looking for the best performing memory for my AV applications.
