Twinx1024-4400C25. I've propably got a bad module.

Recommended Posts

One module is failing at rated speed (275mhz, 2.5-4-4-8).

Voltage tried: 2.75-2.90

The modules have been tested with my A8n sli premium and

a Dfi sli-d. Both failed one of the modules at rated speeds.

I don't get any errors when running cas2-2-2-5 @ 200mhz @ 2.75vdimm.

Programs Used: Memtest86 & Memtest for Windows

Have you got any solution to my problem?

Regards

More than likely it’s just the configuration of your specific systems will not over clock that high. Have you tied lowering your CPU Freq and see where the system tops out? Also please list the exact bios settings you had set when you tried this! And please tell us the Model of MB and the Bios version you have installed.

I used a A8N SLI PREMIUM for testing. I used the latest bios, 1009 final.

Mist 500W psu and an AMD 3800+ dualcore cpu.

I have tested the modules with a dfi setup, but i do not have any screenshots or info at hand. I got the same problems on that rig as well.

Let's just call the modules 1 & 2.

When using module 1 i can easily reach 278fsb*9multiplier or 8*300 at 2.85v.

24H stable in prime and in memtest86.

When using module 2 i can't boot into windows at the same speed or at rated ddr550. I'm just getting a bluescreen and it reboots.

If I try lowering the timings or run on a divider it does not help much.

I can boot into windows, but in seconds the machine reboots again.

I will paste the timings using a screenshot from a64tweaker. They are correct.

Voltage used whit both modules: 2.80volts. Just to be sure.

(I tested the modules one by one)

Thanks for a quick response on the last post.

If you can do this with either module that would suggest your system is just topping out. And chances are the bios just needs a little time to mature for this new core CPU. But I would try and set the CPU Freq at about 260-266 MHz and see if it will pass with both modules installed.
