younda
Built this system 3 months ago. Today, system will not boot. Main Board powers on, detects processor, then hangs with 3 diagnostic LEDs lit on MB with a single long beep every 4-5 seconds. Per the DFI user manual, this means it can't detect DRAM. I've reseated memory and other cards, removed power to all devices except MB and fans. No change. Anything else you'd suggest before requesting an RMA? ydy
Wired
test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+. This will help you find out if it's a stick or a slot. CAS Latency (tCL): 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6 Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts All other settings to defaults. younda
It is indeed a bad memory module. I followed a procedure recommended by the MB manufacturer. At first it still had a problem, but then I tried each memory module individually, and one memory module out of the pair hangs the system. It hangs the system, no matter which slot the card is placed. I'll need an RMA number to replace the defective module. Since this is a matched set, will I get a new matched set? ydy
