chuckr4
My Win XP installation has been giving me trouble for a few months now. I was getting several error messages and when I rebooted my computer, it took several times before it would startup without errors. I then decided to do a fresh install of XP. After doing this, I got a message that I had an error and it asked if I wanted to send an error report. I did so, and an IE window opened from Microsoft indicating that the error was due to the RAM. It suggested that I download their memory tester, so I did. I ran the test and came up with several errors. The test showed that only 1 of my 2 modules had errors. I took out the bad one and ran the test again and got 0 errors. I would like to get the bad module replaced. I purchased it from ZipZoomFly in Feb of this year and their policy states that after 30 days, warranty issues must be processed through the manufacturer. I am not doing any overclocking and I have not changed any of the default RAM settings in the BIOS. Here is my info: Corsair Valueram VS1GBKIT400 Sticker on module states: VS512MB400 lot 0448038-0 ASUS P5GDC Deluxe MB P4 3.0 Thank you
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 10, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 10, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
