tick822
Hello, A couple of months ago I purchased a VS512MB400 from Mwave.com. After installing it in a new system, I noticed it was unstable. Running memtest on the machine with the new memory installed resulted in a number of errors. Running memtest on the same machine with a similar module from Kingston resulted in no errors. Running the VS512MB400 on two other systems also resulted in memtest errors. One of these "other" systems supports DDR400 modules, while 2nd doesn't claim to, but I've had success with other modules from different vendors. Please advise as to how I can get this resolved. Unfortunately, I waited to long after I purchased the module to actually try it out, so if an exchange is needed, the retailer is unlikely to help. Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 8, 2005 Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
tick822
I don't have the system in front of me now, but I know that I had the latency setting at 2.5. The frequency was "auto detected" in all three systems, but on the Soyo system, I also told it to run it slower, with no change in results. Which settings would you like to to try, and I give it a shot when I get home... The system is a SY-KT600 DRAGON Plus v.2.0 with a Athlon XP 2100+ processor. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 8, 2005 You should set the memory frequency at 1-1 or 100% so it's in sync with your CPU.
tick822
I tried that. I also tested it at CPU - 33 to slow it down, but got the same results. BTW - Thanks for the quick replies. :)
