CVselect compatibilty with each other

Recommended Posts

I've just added a an extra stick of 1gb corsair value select to the existing twinned 512mb sticks in an epox 8rda3+ Mother board.

I've just checked and the timings are slightly different:

DIMM1 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)

DIMM2 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)

DIMM3: Corsair VS1GB400C3 1 GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz)

The CPU is and AMD 3200+.

So far the system is stable. Should the memory be running at 400mhz? Can I optimise the system to cover the slight diiferencce in timings 2.5 - 3 or shouldn't this matter?

Thanks for your time.

thanks for the reply Ram Guy.

Too late, its all bought and paid for. I was just hoping that there may be a bios adjustment to optimise what I have got.

If i had unlimited money, (and an understanding wife) I would have gone for two 1 gb sticks. As it was I had already the twinned 512 sticks with cas 2.5. I need more memory and I didnt realise the 1gb stick was Cas 3.0 till I got home and put it in the system.

I suppose, I've made my bed i have to lie in it.
