Screwloose
I bought 4gb of XMS 3200 Platinum Series memory for my PC about 4 weeks ago. From the start it was acting like a ghost in the machine. All kinds of strange things going on and I took it to 2 different computer stores to find out what the problem was. Eventually Best Buy's Geek Squad told me I had 2 bad sticks of Ram. These ram modules would not allow my PC to post 90% of the time. I need to get an RMA I guess. Let me know what you need from me. Thanks, Frank
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 7, 2005 Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Screwloose
The sticks are both CMX1024-3200PT 3.3 lot# 0530140-1 My ram settings and board settings are all on Auto. Not sure what exactly you wanted to know. My board has a lot of things that you can tweak, but I have not done any over clocking on this PC yet. The board I have is Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR, and Like I said all the settings are default right now.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 9, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 9, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
