driver2u
Before purchasing Corsair memory I ran this system with 512 MB of Kingston memory. Although the system ran fine, I felt I needed more memory so I pulled the Kingston and installed 1 GB of Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPT memory. Since that time, I have experienced program crashes with programs that previously did not crash, like Power DVD. The system has also been intermittantly sluggish. I noticed this when using Explorer, so I ran Memtest-86 v3.2 from a bootable cd-rom and discovered that the Corsair memory was generating errors. After the first series of tests I changed the bios settings from automatic to 2-2-2-5 and changed the voltage from auto to 2.75v. I re-ran the tests and still got errors. Note: Each stick was in a blue memory slot during these tests, ie:slot 1&3 for dual channel operation. Then I briefly tested (30 minutes) each stick individually in memory slot 1 (single channel) and did not get any errors. Then I moved both sticks to slots 2&4 (dual channel) and re-ran the tests. Errors started showing up at approximately 38 minutes. What's next?
Wired
Try running both in single channel mode. They should pass w/o issue. Sounds like memory control issue. May want to try them in another PC just to be safe. I'd bet they'll pass in dual channel just fine.
