OHPats69
Hello, I recently bought the Corsair TwinX XMS 1GB Dual Channel DDR RAM sticks and am having problems with my system. I first replaced my 2x512MB Kingston ValueRam with the new Corsair RAM and was able to boot up my system. After a day or so I kept getting memory error messages and would frequently have to reboot my system. Finally after about 5 days I did a reboot and I couldn't even get to the POST screen. I tried everything in the book to no avail. I finally put the old RAM back in and it worked. I was relieved, but couldn't figure out what was wrong. Before the system "crashed" I ran the Windows Memory Test and both Corsair sticks tested out OK. I am wondering if the Corsair RAM finally just gave way or I am having some sort of other problem and the RAM is OK. Please give me any suggestions before I go ahead and ask for an RMA to test out some new RAM. Thanks in advance for the help! Paul
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 7, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
