chays33
Earlier this year I purchased two 512 mb value select VS512MB400 modules and things seemed to be going great, then after a few months I would repeatedly get and randomly get STOP blue screens on my xp system with a hardware error, or a random memory dump. I made a memtest boot cd and ran that which came up with thousands of errors. I removed the chip I believed to be bad, and left its twin in my computer. I havnt received the blue screen even once since then. Ive tried to make it die, by running Far Cry as well as the new NHL 2006 with it....working like a champ GO CORSAIR!!!!!!..... I would love to be able to use another 512 mb in it, I need to get an RMA to get it replaced, but apparently I need YOU DA MAN RAM GUY to reply to this post and give me the ok.........PLEASE!!! I will probably lookin into upgrading with two 1gb modules in the future but for now, I would like to replace this one. Serial number is 783-0508072-0-169705 thank you in advance.........purchased at zipzoomfly!!!!!! they rock as well

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
