pbourget
I have an ASUS P4-P800SE motherboard. Currently I have two 512MB modules. I need to upgrade to 2GB total memory. Can I add 2 more 512MB modules (which ones) or do I have to get two 1 GB modules (which ones). I don't have the exact model number of the two I have but on the receipt when I bought them it says Corsair 512MB DDR333 PC2700 64M X 64M 184 CAS 2 32Mx8 DRAM with heat spreader. I hope that is enough info as I would prefer not taking my PC apart (hard to get to). I believe they are CMS512 ... I had one replaced a year or two ago and I know I had compatibility issues and had to have a low revision number. I can't find my old posts in the warranty forum to get the model numbers. Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2005 If you add to what you have now it would be best to match them both in part# and revision. However, it may be better for performance to just replace what you have now with one Twinx2048-3200C2 set of modules.
pbourget
Thanks for the info. I am not sure how I would ever get the same revision #. I guess only if I order direct through you guys.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2005 Well no I am sorry we do not sell direct. And you are right its not an easy task to try and match memory. Its best to find another use for what you have now and just get one Twinx2048-3200C2 set of modules for best performance.
