denspad
I have been experiencing problems with PC rebooting itself following a BSOD during the last 2 or 3 weeks. I have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Motherboard with the 3 DIMM sockets each containing 512Mb memory giving a total of 1.5Gb. The BSOD report either IRQ_LESS_THAN ..... or PFN_FILE_LIST_CORRUPT. The errors are irregular. Having consulted many forums on the internet, a number of users suggested I may have bad memory. Therefore I downloaded memtest and proceeded to install each module and then perform a full test. Two of the modules passed fully when installed, however 1 module reported 38 errors in tests 4,5 and 6 around the 370.4Mb mark. I notified Overclockers (The retailer http://www.overclockers.co.uk) from whom I purchased the first 2 modules some 18 months ago. They have asked for the original invoice number which I do not have and they are not co-operating to have the module replaced. I have read the Corsair Warranty policy and it states I should post here to obtain a post_id before requesting an RMA, so here I am. The memory has the original holographic sticker with the details contained upon it. Please advise how to proceed.
