AFroio
Hi, I've been using my Twinx2048-3200c2pt memory on my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe for a long time and I just upgraded most of my components, including a new DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D motherboard. This board does not seem to like my memory. If I put both modules in, I bluescreen as soon as Windows loads. It seems to work fine with one module, though. Either module works so it's not the ram. I've also flashed the latest mobo bios and set the timings to 2-3-3-6 and the dram voltage to 2.70 since it doesn't seem to let me do 2.75. Is there any way of getting these two to work together? I'm not in love with this board, so if not, I think I see another ASUS in my future. Or maybe I should upgrade my memory if this board is worth keeping. Any advice is welcome, Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2005 These modules should run great in that MB. Can you tell me the exact bios version and settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? AFroio
Hi, I'm running the BIOS dated 6-23-2005 (the most recent on DFI's site) and I didn't make any changes to the bios other than the 2-3-3-6 timings and the 2.70 voltage and those changes were only an attempt to get the memory to work. *** I did get it to work today though, by increasing the voltage to 2.80 on a friend's recommendation (I know nothing of such things). That did it. Now I can boot up fine with both modules installed. Does this make sense? Thanks for your help! Adam
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2005 Yes that might suggest a power problem if the modules were working in another system.
