macozz
I have a 1GB Corsair Flash Voyager and it was working great :sunglasse , but I went to use it today and it won't work anymore :[pouts: and it says it's a Prolific USB disk:confused: . I tried to format and it says it's write protected:sigh!: , so it won't do anything at this moment:(: . I was wondering if they make some kind of utility that might fix it:biggrin: ? Some kind of software that puts it back to factory specs:biggrin: , I read some guy talking about a high level format:biggrin: ? Is there anything besides sending it back for replacement:eek: ? Any thoughts or opinions or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 31, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 31, 2005 Unfortunately if the drive is reading as write-protected the only option you have is to try the device on another system to determine if it is the drive or your machine that is causing the problem. If you determine the drive to be in error, let's get it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! macozz
Well I've tried it on 5 machines, no luck it seems to have lost its specs. Does this kind of thing happen alot? I have been reading your forum and alot of people are having the same problem, what causes this to happen? is there any safe gaurds you can use to put it back if it screws up again? ( I mean the new one) Do they make a utility that could try and fix it? I am very bummed about this and would like to know what I can do to protect the new one, I will not keep returning it every 2-5 months for a new one. Who is PROLIFIC could they help me?:[pouts:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2005 Well we sold more than 50 thousand of these last month so there may be a few having a problem, but if you consider the volume we sell its a small number. We would need to inspect your drive to determine the case of the failure. But let's get it replaced.
