spatti
I have CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB (2 x 256MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory. My system was continually freezing just by launching an app after windows booted. I reinstalled the O.S. and still faced the same problem. Finally I started pulling components...starting with the memory. I pulled both of the corsair memory modules out and all was fine. That pretty much says it. Please issue me an ticket number so I can RMA these things. THanks, Shawn
Wired
Try testing w/ ONE stick at a time.
spatti
I'd rather not. I purchased a set of 2 and would rather both be replaced. While I enjoy building a system...diagnosing warranteed memory issues should be left to the vendor. I have already determined the memory is the cause..shouldn't corsair honor their warranty from here?
Wired
Not enough evidence yet, because it could be a compatibility issue between the different types of memory. Also, testing one stick at a time helps to make sure it isn't a bad slot on the motherboard.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2005 I would not suggest mixing memory with any system, and many times when you replace memory you would need to go to bios setup and load setup defaults even if the modules are the same timings but different memory IC's they may need to set some other settings not shown in the bios. I have no problem replacing your modules, but what you have posted might suggest some other problem, and I would suggest testing our modules by them selves and load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts.
