Hello there.

My powerful comp:

Alienware 51m 7700

-1x1GB K|ngston DDR2 PC2-4200

-2x256 Mb Samsung DDR2 PC2-4200

and a last acquisition

-1x1GB Corsair VS1GSDS533D2

Since I have put this last corsair stick in my powerful laptop, its freezing omg :o, the comps does some strange noises sometimes, reboots itself, freezing a lot ...

So I decided to run memtest86 without this Corsair stick, all 9 tests are succesfull, adding the Corsair stick, and now it starts directly with 10 errors,

it sends a lot of data 0x20202020 and the stick returns 0x20df2020 :/

3 3 000981a4250 - 2433.2MB 20202020 20df2020 df

etc, etc...

and effectively, If I run my laptop without that Corsair stick, it is stable as before , no crash , no freezing, no reboots...

I'm french and I have got this stick from surcouf.com wich is a reseller under warranbty I think , is it better for me to exchange it with them ? or should I go back to buy a 2nd K|ngston stick Im currently running without problems...

Well I admit the stick alone works fine to memtest86 and I also admit that I have been totally fooled by corsair, in a way no , I bought this stick because I had it half the price with kadeos reductions at surcouf but yes in a way because I didnt know and it's not said in the reference that your stick isnt compatible with other brands... will be able to sell it on ebay a bit more than I have paid for it but I will remain this from corsair, I call this cheating...

nb: I guess you will delete this thread, I will save it to publish it on my website where there is thausend of visitors , this will clearly explain why to choose K|ngston instead of corsairs cheaters ;)

Please look up your system on our memory configurator and use a module that is suggested.

Our Value Select and XMS modules are not made to be compatible with other memory they are made to provide best performance verses price. And you are welcome to post this one any site, but please get the story right! It is never a good idea to mix memory of any brand.

I dont use it and its buggus at all

Area-51m Max Memory : 1.0 GB

since when ? and it shows wrong type of ram lol...

I'm sorry , the RAM reference I have from corsair is made to work correctly in my laptop, dont need nooby buggus configurator scripts... gone to use a normal brand not cheating, I already use 2 here without problems ... they does the ram with the specs without cheat , that's all ...

Ummm... do you know what the term "TYPO" and "HUMAN ERROR" means?

Also:

http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51m_7700/area-51m_7700_specs.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-AREA51-M-7700&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT

Starting at 256MB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz.

4 dedicated SO-DIMM slots for Dual-Channel DDR2 Memory

Even Alienware isn't saying what the max is. 1.0 GB is a safe assumption, although the configuration area does say 3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 533MHz - 2 x 512MB / 2 x 1024MB (wierd combo IMHO).

BTW, do you mean "bogus" or "buggy"?
