One bad module of a 2x512 kit

Hi,

I've been recommending Corsair ValueSelect to my clients for quite a while, and I've never had an issue at all until recently. We recently ordered a 1GB (2x512MB PC3200 kit from newegg) ValueSelect Kit and installed it in a Dell Optiplex about two and a half weeks ago. Unfortunately, the user started to experience sudden sporadic system shutdowns the following morning. At first, we thought it was some "sleep" mode accidentally kicking in, but after hours with Dell techsupport, we were able to conclude that we had a memory issue. We removed each module and tested the computer running with the remaining module over a few days. THe computer had no problems with one module, but it exhibited the same problematic issues with the other module. This made it clear that one of the sticks was bad. Because the client requires consistent uptime, it would be helpful if we could get an RMA for this one 512mb stick as soon as possible.

I've included a pdf scan of the defective stick. Please contact me at my email address to update me.

Thank you,

James

Thanks for the prompt response! For all you new buyers out there, this is why you stick (no pun intended!) with the good companies like Corsair.

I learned that a long, long time ago the hard way :)

I will submit the online RMA when I receive the required info for the RMA from the company. FYI, this small business has so far purchased a total of 4 Corsair ValuSelect 1GB kits over the last two years (plus one personal purchase by an employee).

James
