turnstok
Hi, I'm using TWINX1204-3200C2PT (Dual Channel, slots 0 and 2) on an ASUS NCCH-DL motherboard with Dual Xeon 2.4GHz cpus. In this config. the maximum speed for the RAM is DDR333 / 2700. Can you advise me on the optimum settings that the RAM can run at? Currently I'm running with the stated settings for DDR400, but I presume I can go 'faster' with the lower frequency? Current settings are: 2-3-3-6 Cheers! CandyKid
Welcome to the forums, turnstok! Since the modules are not rated at DDR333, they have no specific 'XMS' settings for that speed. However, you can definately try to tighten them up! First, I'd try 2-3-2-6 with the RAS to CAS delay at '3'. If that's stable through Memtest86+, then try 2-3-2-5, then 2-2-2-5 and so on. You may also need a little more voltage for the modules, but don't exceed a vDIMM of 2.9 volts. PLUR CK
turnstok
Thanks CandyKid! I upped the voltage to 2.8 and gradually upped the settings as you suggested, running a Memtest each time. Now I'm at 2-2-2-5 (which is as far as I can go with the Mobo) and everything is running great!
lebm
Hi, I have exactly the same question, but my motherboard is an Abit NF7-S v 2.0 with Athlon XP 2800 (FSB 333). Can i use the same timings sugested to turnstok ? (The memory is also TWINX1204-3200C2PT) Thanks.
