Griffen8280
I have recently purchased a twinx1024-3200C2PT mached ram. Now I have two problems one I can never get the latency down from 3 unless I run it at PC2700 or 333MHz. Two I have an old twinx512-3200C2PT that I would love to run in the second channel but will they play nicely together? My new motherboard is a Abit AI7 and is so far meeting my expectations whole heartedly except for this small memory issue. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2005 Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Griffen8280
Sorry the CPU is a P4 3.0GHz running at 800 FSB the ram is running at 400MHz clock. The voltage was automatically set by my mobo at 2.6V. I have no performance stuff on right now as this is a new install and I haven't had a chance to mess it up yet. haha
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2005 There seems to be a bios issue with that MB and I would set the Dim over voltage control to +.2 Volts as well. So please make sure that you have the latest bios version or test the modules in another MB if you can.
Griffen8280
I'll try that, but to the best of your knowledge those ram modules should all work together?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2005 No with this MB all of the modules would need to be exactly matched both in part# and revision, And even if they were all the same this MB may by default have to run at DDR333 if you install more than 2 double sided modules.
