GFiSH
Hi, I currently have an MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum mobo with a set of TwinX2048-PC3200C2PT memory which I am unable to run at any other timings than 3-3-3-8 without the system failing to boot or crashing unexpectedly. I am also having problems with it at 3-3-3-8. I have decided to upgrade to Athlon 64 and have decided to go for the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo and an 3500+ Venice core cpu. Will my current memory work better with this board? Or is there another S939 board with AGP that will run my memory at the suggested timings of 2.5-3-3-6? CMC_SAVAGE
What is the Dimm Voltage set to?
leeghoofd
The MSI sould run that memory at those settings it could be that it has to run at 2T command rate to ensure stability. I also would take into consideration the ABit AV8 and the Asus A8V dlx. The weird thing with your current setup is that unless you have a 3000 or 3200XP cpu the memory is runnign at 166 mhz unless you run it assynchrously ( which decreases performance on the Nforce3 platform ) did you set it up with 2.75 volts or just left all settings to spd ? Memtest both dimms seperately to see if maybe one is a bad dimm ?
