Kharlkuhlinayn
Hey RamGuy. Doing what needs to be done to get the RMA thing started. I purchased a 1GB (512x2) set of ValueSelect PC3200 from Fry's Electronics a little over a year ago and since I was still running Win98SE I was limited to just running one of them due to 98's limitations. Finally got around to purchasing WinXP Pro and put the other stick in and got nothing but problems. Mostly rebooting if memory serves me (been a few weeks since I did it). So I figured it was a good time to do some module testing :-) Pulled the new one out and ran WMD for 11 passes and nothing. MemTest86 v3.2 ran through 6 passes with no errors either. This module was already working anyways so I wasn't shocked. Pull the first stick and put the other one in and run WMD for 7 passes without a problem. Throw in the MemTest86 CD and let it run and BAM! bunches of errors on Test 5. I let it go through 6 passes and it was up to over 1100 errors detected total. The Sticker on both modules reads: Corsair ValueSelect VS512MB400 Lot:0337125 Let me know where to go from here or give me permission to move onto the Online RMA Request to get the bad one replaced :-) (As a sidenote, we are picking up an ASUS P4P800SE MB for my Wife's Machine which is running 1GB (512x2) Corsair XMS2700.... anything I need to know for BIOS settings?) Thanks! Todd in Renton, WA
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 24, 2005 Let's get them both replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! And with the new system just make sure that you get the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.75 Volts and you should be good to go.
