Bad ram need RMA

Recommended Posts

I have a bad stick of value select VS512MB266.

fails mem test on 1st or 2nd run everytime. Causes random bsods.

This is a replacement stick I recieved under RMA and it is also bad. Its not the MB because I have ran it in 3 boards and get the same problems. Fails mem test everytime. I guess if you have to pay for shipping charges enough times you will just be out .What good is a warranty if it cost you as much in the long run for shipping as the ram cost new.

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please either call our customer service at 888-222-4346 and dial "0" or follow the link in my signature "If you have submitted the RMA using the on line form and have not got a reply!" However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
