kaarel
Hello I build alot of workstation with similar conf (mb, ram) in my sig. When i used RAM v1.1 everything was ok. SPD detected cl2 with fast timings. But my vendor changed to v2.1. Now SPD detects cl3 with loose timings. If i manually change to cl2, the system becomes unstabel and memtest86 reports errors. Max voltage i tried was 2,8. BIOS rev was N4D702-3 (oskar wu beta) and stock bios motherboards came with. I do not want to oc with those systems as they go to my clients for PS and Corel. Should i increse voltage further as those rams have BH-5 chips? What is the difference between v1.1 and v2.1? What BIOS should i use with v2.1? Or should i by cheap memory for half the price to get those timings those v2.1 provide? best regards Kaarel DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D Athlon64 3200+ Venice/X2 3800+ TWINX2048-3200C2PT ATI X850XT + Zalman VF700-Cu Audigy 2 ZS Seagate 7200.8 250GB 16MB Zalman CNPS7700-Cu 2xPabst 120mm 4412
CMC_SAVAGE
The 3200C2's are programmed with JEDEC Values. You would need to manually set the timings. Should i increse voltage further as those rams have BH-5 chips? What is the difference between v1.1 and v2.1? What BIOS should i use with v2.1? You can look here for Version# and IC's used. The BIOS should'nt factor in and 2.8 Volts is fine. If you have any problems with a system, you would need to list each system's specs. Also, the Winbond BH-5 IC's have been out of production for a while.
