spazzbecker
Hi ALL This is my rig: Asus A8n-SLI Premium Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4400C25PT TwinX (4x512MB) CAS2.5 (TWINX1024-4400C25PT) AMD 4800 X2 Dual Core with a Zalman cooler BFG 7800 GTX x2 SLI Tagan 580W I would like to set my memory timmings up so it's running at 275 MHz and latencies of 2.5-4-4-8 how do I do this in the Asus Bios? Also I know this is the Corsair Support Forum but could you also give me pointer on how to set my 4800 x2 to run at 2.7GHz? Thanks Carl
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 21, 2005 Carl, I really doubt you will get close to 250 Mhz with 4 modules and this CPU, but you are welcome to try it. In additon, you really will need a bigger PSU if you want to over clock, as thise Video cards require about 22-24 Amps each not over clocked. I would set the memory timings manually to 2.5-4-4-8 and set the Voltage to 2.8 Volts and go from there.
spazzbecker
Thanks for the response. With the Asus bios set up is confusing for me. Could you break it down how to manually set these timings in the bios? Thanks again Carl
leeghoofd
If you run the memory at 225 mhz multiplied by your CPU's multiplier which is 12 you should get 2700mhz, I would go for 2600mhz first mate ( 12 x 217mhz) at the designated timings 2.5-3-3-8 at 2.8 volts command rate 2T. Also lower the HTT to 4X = 800mhz ( instead of 5 or 1000mhz) to ensure stability. CPU voltage probably also has to be increased slightly eg my 4000 San Diego core runs perfectly at 2600mhz at 1.425 volts instead of the stock 1.4 volts. ( Memtimings for my XL ram 2-3-3-7 at 217Mhz HTT4X at 2.8 volts ) OC step by step and see what each settings does, run memtest to see if it's stable, run SuperPi in Winxp to make sure it runs bulletproof,....
