ShamblingFiend
I just purchased CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) to replace my 1GB of "no-name" RAM. I would like to OC it, as I've heard/read from many that it's great for overclocking. However, I'm not exactly how to properly OC the RAM w/o causing any system problems/instabilities. I'm completely familiar with all my BIOS settings, so instructions on how to OC the RAM should not be a problem for me to follow. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Things I should probably know are: 1) do I leave the RAM at it's native timing? 2) do I adjust just the mhz of the ram? (this causes other things to be raised automatically in my system, such as my CPU mhz) 3) do I need to adjust the freq of my CPU to keep up with the OC'd RAM? ..and any other even small detail people can pass on, would be extremely helpful, so I make sure I do not damage anything, and learn as much as possible about OC'ing. Thanks in advance & cheers.
Wired
What CPU / FSB / Motherboard do you have? What is the exact part # and revision # of each stick? Is it a TwinX pack? How To Read the Memory Label If you have more than one stick, have you tested one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+? Click here to add your system specs to your profile and posts!
