Hey im planning to purchase TWINX1024-3200C2PT with a BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 motherboard. Im just wondering if these are compatible because my friend told me that ram works best with intel and if this ram isnt compatible what would be the best for this motherboard?

Your friend is wrong. The CAS 2-3-3-6 recommendation for Intel systems versus CAS 2.5-3-3-6 for AMD systems dates back to when Socket A was the norm for AMD processors. But with newer motherboards and processors, any TWINX1024-3200C2/CMX512-3200C2 module purchased within the past month or so is guaranteed to work at CAS 2-3-3-6 timings on current-production Intel and AMD systems which use DDR400 memory.

At any rate, your choice of the TWINX1024-3200C2PT is a good choice for your mobo - if you can manually adjust the DDR voltage to at least 2.7V in the BIOS. If not, you may be better off with the Value Select modules (VS1GBKIT400; CAS 2.5-3-3-8) or even the System Select modules (CMSS512-400; CAS 3-3-3-8); the latter is significantly more expensive than most of the XMS series memory due to their strict adherence to the JEDEC standards.

By the way, you may want to wait a few months before getting this (or any other) GeForce 6100 series motherboard. That's because the BIOS version that's on the TForce6100-939 motherboard is not only the current BIOS version, but it's also the first BIOS release for that mobo. There will be plenty of bugs with those first BIOS releases for the manufacturers to work out.
