Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 18, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 18, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well?
mr.pbody
sure. it's an asus p4p800 deluxe with a p4 2.6ghz oc'ed to 3.1 so fsb is @ 234. i just got the 2x512 and have had the 2x256 for years. the 256's were running @ 230 fsb w/ timings of 2.5-3-3-8-8...all good. thanks for your reply. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 19, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 19, 2005 I would not suggest it but you are welcome to try what ever you like. And if you do that you will need to set the memory frequency and timings manually to Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.8 Volts and set the Freq to DDR400. And I doubt that you will be able to over clock as much as you can with just one set of modules. If you do not set these settings manually the system may not post or if will post it will not run at DDR400 because the timings are set differently in both modules. mr.pbody
yeah, that's what i figured...the timings would screw it up. okay thanks!
